The HMC auto plant in Ulsan is a major production facility of the company , comprising of five separate production plants located over a vast area of land in Ulsan. Employing over 34,000 employees, the plant produces an average of 5,600 cars a day. The plant also operates its own pier that can accommodate up to three 42,000-ton cargo ships.

The plant is also equipped with its own fire station, general hospital, and a force of patrol vehicles. It is by far the largest individual auto plant in the world and the Mecca of the Korean auto industry.

The Ulsan plant generates positive effects in the regional economy, worth a total of 3.7 trillion won a year, through consistent production, vigorous investments in production facilities, and creating jobs directly and indirectly. It is another example of HMC's commitment to fulfilling its economic responsibilities.
