Commemorating
Children's Day on May 5th, Hyundai Motors held 'The 1st Korean Children's
Safety Quiz Contest' at Sangam WorldCup Park where children, parents,
and teachers participate jointly sponsored by MOPAS and the Citizen's Coalition
for Safety.
Hyundai Motors prepared this contest to enable children to enjoy
learning about 'children's safety' in an easy way through quizzes, and also to
let the entire community know about the importance of children's safety
education by providing a diverse range of events for experiencing safety.
This
contest is a final contest competing for the safety quiz king prize where186
children, selected after going through the first and second online preliminary contest
among 25,000 participants all over the country, engages in a O/X quiz and golden
bell style quizzes.
A total of 8 children who have achieved excellent grades on
this day are given a prize certificate and extra prize such as Minister of
Public Administration &Security Award and Hyundai Motors CEO Award, and a
chance to experience an overseas cultural visit.
In the online preliminary
contest held from March 30th to April 25th targeting elementary school and
preschool children age 5~7 and up, a total of 25,000 children from 232 city,
county, and district all over the country applied for the contest. The first
and second preliminaries brought about great interest in safety as about 570,000
people visited the quiz contest site.
On the day of the event, 'Safety
Experience Festival' was also held along with the finals of the quiz contest,
and this festival allowed any child to participate in the event.
'Safety
Experience Festival' event consists of colorful events such as • How to escape in
case of fire, • How to use a fire extinguisher • How to administer first aid, • Experiential
programs such as traffic safety vehicle • traffic
safety photo exhibition, and • Gas safety and elevator
safety class, and besides this, there were programs children can enjoy to their
heart's content such as face painting, and family love recreation.
Furthermore,
in the parking lot next to the event location, maintenance services were
provided by Hyundai Motors for conducting vehicle inspection and supporting
consumable parts on participant's family vehicles and general vehicles.

October of last year, Hyundai Motors has been actively carrying out Happy Way
